లండన్: బ్యాంకులకు వేలకోట్ల రూపాయలు ఎగ్గొట్టి, గత ఏడాది మార్చి నెలలో యూకే పారిపోయి అక్కడ విలాసవంతమైన జీవితం గడుపుతున్న లిక్కర్‌ టైకూన్ విజయ్‌ మాల్యాను భారత్‌కు అప్పగించే కేసు విచారణ నేటి నుంచి ప్రారంభం కాబోతుంది.

వచ్చే 10 రోజుల వరకు వెస్ట్‌మినిస్టర్‌ మెజిస్ట్రేట్‌ కోర్టు చీఫ్‌ మెజిస్ట్రేట్‌ ఎమ్మా అర్బత్నోట్ ఈ కేసుపై వాదనలు విననున్నారు. ఒకవేళ ఈ కేసులో విజయ్ మాల్యాను భారత్‌కు అప్పగించేందుకు అంగీకరిస్తే రెండు నెలల్లో విజయ్ మాల్యాను భారత్‌కు తీసుకొచ్చే అవకాశముంది.

భారత ప్రభుత్వం తరుఫున 'బ్రిటన్‌ క్రౌన్‌ ప్రాసిక్యూషన్‌ సర్వీసెస్‌' తన వాదనలను వినిపించనుంది. అదేవిధంగా మాల్యా తరుఫున క్లేర్‌ మాంట్‌ గోమెరీ వాదించనున్నారు.
అంతర్జాతీయ క్రిమినల్‌ చట్టాలు, నేరస్తుల అప్పగింత వంటి కేసుల్లో క్లేర్‌కు ఏళ్ల అనుభవం ఉంది.

ఈ కేసు వాదనలు ముగిసే సమయానికి అప్పగింతకు జడ్జి అంగీకరిస్తే, యూకే హోమ్‌ సెక్రటరీ అంబర్‌ రూడ్‌, మాల్యాను రెండు నెలల వ్యవధిలో భారత్‌కు అప్పగించాలని ఆదేశాలు జారీచేయనున్నారు.
