రంగు పడింది: సకల నేరస్తుల సర్వేలో అవేం ప్రశ్నలు?: పోలీసులపై హైకోర్టు ఫైర్

హైదరాబాద్‌: తెలంగాణ పోలీసులు చేపట్టిన సకల నేరస్తుల సమగ్ర సర్వేపై హైకోర్టు మండిపడింది. తెలంగాణలోని నేరస్తులు, నేరచరితుల వివరాలు సేకరించేందుకు పోలీసులు ఇటీవల ఈ సర్వేను చేపట్టిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.

నేరస్తుల వివరాలు సేకరించడంపై హైకోర్టు కన్నెర్ర జేయడంతో ఇకనుంచి ఈ సర్వే చేయబోమని అడ్వకేట్‌ జనరల్‌ న్యాయస్థానానికి నివేదించారు. ఈ విషయంలో ఎవరైనా తమ డేటా దుర్వినియోగమైందని భావిస్తే.. తమ వద్దకు రావొచ్చునని హైకోర్టు కూడా స్పష్టం చేసింది.\

సకల నేరస్తుల సమగ్ర సర్వేలో అభ్యంతరకరమైన, ఇబ్బందికరమైన ప్రశ్నలు ఉన్నాయని గతంలో హఫీజ్ అనే వ్యక్తి హైకోర్టులో పిటిషన్ దాఖలు చేశారు. ఈ పిటిషన్‌ను విచారించిన న్యాయస్థానం.. కౌంటర్ దాఖలు చేయాలని తెలంగాణ పోలీసు శాఖను ఆదేశించింది.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో తెలంగాణ పోలీస్ శాఖ సోమవారం హైకోర్టులో కౌంటర్‌ దాఖలు చేసింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా డీసీపీ (డీడీ, సీసీఎస్‌) అవినాష్ మహంతి స్వయంగా కోర్టుకు హాజరై.. అభ్యంతరకర ప్రశ్నలు సమగ్ర సర్వే నుండి తొలగిస్తున్నామని తెలియజేశారు. దీంతో న్యాయస్థానం పిటిషన్‌‌పై విచారణను ముగించింది.

మరోవైపు ఈ సర్వేను ప్రారంభించిన డీజీపీ మహేందర్ రెడ్డి స్వయంగా పోలీసు అధికారులకు గురువారం తాజాగా సర్క్యులర్ పంపించారు. సకల నేరస్తుల సమగ్ర సర్వేను తక్షణమే నిలిపివేస్తున్నామని, ఈ విషయాన్ని అన్ని స్థాయిల్లోని పోలీసు అధికారులు క్షేత్రస్థాయి సిబ్బందికి తెలియజేయాలని అందులో ఆదేశించారు.

With the High Court pulling up the State police for its Sakala Nerastula Samagra Survey, a comprehensive collection of data related to criminals, it has decided to stop collection of details of criminals, in what appears to be a major setback to the police department. The exercise of collecting personal details and geo-tagging of criminals and their family members will not be carried out henceforth. The exercise, launched on January 18, was conceived by Director-General of Police M Mahendar Reddy. In a fresh circular on Thursday, the DGP said that the survey of collecting details of criminals ceased to be in operation. “Supervisory officers at all levels shall inform all the field officers working under their charge and ensure strict compliance of these instructions without fail,’’ he said in the circular.
