వరంగల్ సెంట్రల్ జైలు నుంచి.. పాక్ యావజ్జీవ ఖైదీ విడుదల

గూఢచర్యం కేసులో అరెస్టయి.. వరంగల్ లోని సెంట్రల్ జైలులో యావజ్జీవ శిక్ష అనుభవించిన పాకిస్తాన్ ఖైదీ అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్(53) ను శనివారం జైలు అధికారులు విడుదల చేశారు.

వరంగల్: గూఢచర్యం కేసులో అరెస్టయి.. వరంగల్ లోని సెంట్రల్ జైలులో యావజ్జీవ శిక్ష అనుభవించిన పాకిస్తాన్ ఖైదీ అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్(53) ను శనివారం జైలు అధికారులు విడుదల చేశారు. ఇతడ్ని తిరిగి పాకిస్తాన్ కు అప్పగించనున్నారు.

జైలు సూపరింటెండెంట్ కథనం ప్రకారం... గూఢచర్యం కేసులో పట్టుబడిన అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్ కు 30 ఏప్రిల్ 2009లో యావజ్జీవ ఖైదు విధించారు. హైదరాబాద్ లోని చంచల్ గూడ జైలులో కొన్నాళ్లు శిక్ష అనుభవించాక, భద్రతా కారణాల రీత్యా అర్షాద్ ను వరంగల్ సెంట్రల్ జైలుకు తరలించారు.

గత ఏడాది ఆగస్టు 16వ తేదీతో ఇతడి శిక్షాకాలం పూర్తయింది. దీంతో అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్ తిరిగి పాకిస్తాన్ కు వెళ్లేందుకు గత ఏడాదే భారత ప్రభుత్వం అనుమతించింది. అయితే ఈ అప్పగింతకు సంబంధించి పాకిస్తాన్ నుంచి అనుమతి రాకపోవడం వల్ల ఇంతకాలం ఇతడు వరంగల్ జైలులోనే ఉండాల్సి వచ్చింది.

తనను పాకిస్తాన్ కు తిరిగి పంపించేందుకు సాయపడాల్సిందిగా అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్ విదేశాంగ శాఖ మంత్రి సుష్మా స్వరాజ్ కు కూడా విన్నవించుకున్నాడు.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో అప్పగింత ప్రక్రియ పూర్తవడంతో అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్ ను వాఘా సరిహద్దుకు చేర్చాలని, అందుకు వీలుగా అతడ్ని హైదరాబాద్ పోలీసులకు అప్పగించాలని హోం మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ అదేశాలు జారీ చేసింది. దీంతో వరంగల్ సెంట్రల్ జైలు అధికారులు శనివారం అర్షాద్ మహమ్మద్ ను హైదరాబాద్ పోలీసులకు అప్పగించారు.

Arshad Muhammad, a Pakisthani prisoner released today from Warangal Central Jail. He was handed-over the Habits Police Personnel of Hyderabad by Jail Superintendent M Sampath today. According to Central Jail Warangal Superintendent Mr.Sampath, though the Arshad term ended in August Last year and the Indian government permitted him to go-back to his country, but he could not go back as Pakistani government did not respond to his case which delayed the documentation process. Arshad Muhammad appealed to the External Affairs Minister Mrs. Sushma Swaraj to help him to go-back to his country, and it took one year for him to receive the clearances. Warangal Central Jail Superintendent Mr.Sampath said, this 53 year old Arshad Muhammad was sentenced to life in 2009 after the Indian Government found him guilty of Treason and Spying for Pakisthan, he was sentenced to serve life imprisonment on 30th April 2009. He served Sentence at the Chentalguda Prison and later got shifted to Warangal Central Prison due to Security Reasons. His Jail Term ended on 16th August 2016, but he did not get the required permission from Pakisthan. Mr. Sampath said, after all the documentation got in to place for Arshad and Indian Government ordered his release on Saturday. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the orders asking the Police to hand him over at the Waghah Border.
