ఎప్పుడెప్పుడా అని ఎదురుచూస్తున్న కర్ణాటక ఎన్నికలు రానే వచ్చాయి. శనివారం 222 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాలకు పోలింగ్ జరిగింది. చెదురుమదురు ఘటనలు మినహా పోలింగ్ ప్రశాంతంగా ముగిసింది. మొత్తం 2600మంది అభ్యర్థుల భవితవ్యాన్ని ఈ ఎన్నికలు తేల్చనున్నాయి. శనివారం ఉదయం 7 గంటల నుంచి సాయంత్రం 6 గంటల వరకు పోలింగ్ జరిగింది. మే 15న ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలు వెలువడనున్నాయి.

నేటి ఎన్నికల్లో దాదాపు 55,600 పోలింగ్ బూత్ల్లో పోలింగ్ జరగగా, మూడున్నర లక్షల మంది సిబ్బంది పర్యవేక్షణలో ఎన్నికలు ప్రశాంతంగా ముగిశాయి.. ప్రధాన పోటీ కాంగ్రెస్, బీజేపీ మధ్యే ఉండటంతో కన్నడ ఓటరు ఎలాంటి తీర్పు ఇవ్వబోతున్నాడన్న దానిపై ఉత్కంఠ నెలకొంది.
కొత్త చరిత్రకి నాంది పలుకుతారా?
గత కర్ణాటక ఎన్నికలను పరిశీలించినట్టయితే 1985నుంచి ఇప్పటిదాకా కన్నడ ఓటరు ఏ పార్టీకి వరుసగా రెండుసార్లు అధికారం కట్టబెట్టలేదు. అయితే కాంగ్రెస్ మాత్రం ఆ సాంప్రదాయాన్ని బద్దలు కొడుతామన్న ధీమాతో ఉంది. మరోవైపు 130 పైచిలుకు స్థానాలను కైవసం చేసుకుని చరిత్రను పునరావృతం చేయబోతున్నామని బీజేపీ చెబుతోంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో హోరాహోరీ పోరులో ఎవరు గెలుస్తారన్నది ఆసక్తికరంగా మారింది.
